I am getting ready to n-470 to preserve residency. My company is sending me to UAE for one week period which will leads to other long back and forth trips there. I need to file n-470 to preserve residency for naturalization. I have already lived here for more than one year as a permanent resident. My questions are:
1. Where do I find a sample communication letter as a support document?
2. What do I write in it?

Washington: With the arrest of seven Indians, U.S. authorities have claimed to have busted an immigration racket run by an information technology company owner who charged tens of thousands of dollars from expatriates by fraudulently sponsoring their H-1B work visas.
Nilesh Dasondi, 41, was arrested last week on multiple counts of visa fraud involving Cygate Software and Consulting Inc. which run offices in India and Canada.
A naturalised U.S. citizen, Dasondi, also a member of the Edison township board in New Jersey, was released after posting a $8,00,000 bail but he must remain under home confinement with electronic monitoring.
According to court papers cited in Newsday daily, Dasondi is accused of filing federal work visa and immigration documents for six people who did not work for his company between 2003 and 2007, the authorities said.
All the six have been arrested. In exchange, they made payments of more than $8,50,000.
The money was used to support phoney payroll disbursements back to the people, fund tax payments and, in some cases, pay for health insurance, authorities said. Dasondi, however, kept for himself the remainder of the cash after the so-called �running the payroll� scheme. Three bank accounts in the name of Cygate were seized. A fourth account in the name of another company Dasondi controlled was also frozen.
Among those arrested were Kishor Parikh (42), Devang Patel (31) and Chetan Trivedi (40). � PTI

Yes. First I-140 should be cleared for you to port your PD to the second I-140.

But this time there are 90+ dems and Reps co-sponsored this bill..so chance of this getting passed is enormous and I was hoping since this is the child of those claiming to be the champions of the legal immigration ..could probably insert something to bring relief to the legal community..

Recently my company got acquired by another company. Co A had filed for my LC, and was approved in Feb 09, and my i140 was filed in EB3 in Sept 09. Co B wants to keep me, and I will continue the same job. My H1 has also been transferred to Co B. My question is:
will there be any effect on my LC and I140? If so, what happens to my PD (Nov 08)

The pamphlet covers the visa process, important documents, workplace and employee rights, human trafficking, and how to file a complaint. This is a very useful document, not just for immigrants. Is Employer required, by law, for H-1B fling for qualified job applicant? My understanding is that it is upto the employer whether to file any visa sponsorship (including H-1B) for applicant. And its' employer's choice to put "No visa sponsorship" in the job advertisement.

So the letter is just an employment continuation or verification letter and has nothing that states the spousal details or spouse's intention to accompany the H1 holder. I hope I got that right.

My PD is Feb 2007, EB3 category.
My I-140 is approved and I485 was filed in July 2007 (pending more than 180 days)
I have an EAD.
My employer revokes the I-140 for people they lay off. Does the RFE come immediately when they revoke the I-140 or does it come at the time of adjudication - which in my case is a long time away since my PD is Feb 2007 in EB3 category.
My I-140 is approved and I485 was filed in July 2007 (pending more than 180 days)

Application Type: I140 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER
Current Status: Case Transfered to Another Office for Processing
So now on what basis date, RD Aug 22 or transfer date Mar 18 they will touch my case .How long will it take ? Any body on same boat.....

We came on a tourist visa, and the moment my parents had gotten it, we knew we were not coming back. They sold all our furniture before we left.
My mother had a sister living legally in the United States, and my parents planned to have her sponsor us for residency. Soon after landing in New York, my parents saw a lawyer. But we were told the process would take four or five years.
Coming to the States was traumatic. In Ecuador, we had lived in a house. Here, we were in a small apartment. We didn�t know any English. But you know, at that age, things change quickly. In six months we were speaking English and running around like normal kids. Most of the time, we blended in. But we knew weren�t supposed to be here, and we lived with a lot of fear.
I started acting when I was 11, almost as a fluke. One day, we went to visit our cousins, and they were on their way to try-outs for a community theater production of �Oliver!� It was through a program put on by the city, to get disadvantaged kids off the street. I concurrently filed both my I-140 and I-485 back in Oct 09. My I-140 was approved on March 18th and then nothing since. I read that by concurrent filing the process is quicker. I am on an EB1-C. My question is has anyone had any experience in the time frame for concurrent filing under the category i am under? I have checked the tracker and cannot see anyone in similar position. Time line is what i am looking for or is it a "wait and see" situation?

Unfortunately that's how it usually works - dependants' NC is cleared quickly, but the primary applicant's NC is not. Dependants cannot get approvals ahead of the primary applicant. So the whole family is forced to pay for EAD and AP extensions. Talk about generating revenue...
